Edinburgh Museums and Galleries is a group of fifteen fascinating venues and hundreds of historic and contemporary monuments that are operated by the City of Edinburgh Council’s Culture and Sport Service. With the majority of these located in the city’s historic centre, visitors are offered a world-class museum experience and a diverse collection of approximately 150,000 objects of national significance.

Its vision is to inspire, enthuse and provoke through a shared passion for Edinburgh, art and history.

Physically and virtually, the Scottish Poetry Library’s doors are open. There’s poetry there for everyone.

The Edinburgh City of Literature Trust is the development agency for the world’s first UNESCO City of Literature. It aims to bring books, words and ideas to the streets of Edinburgh through year-round events, projects and strategic partnerships both locally and internationally.

The Saltire Society promotes the best of Scottish culture and support or highlight great skills or artistic talents that are not often covered in the mainstream media as part of a legacy to future generations.

Scottish PEN

Scottish PEN

Scottish PEN campaigns vigorously on behalf of writers imprisoned and repressed and brings together Scottish and international writers. It promotes Scottish writing in all its languages and encourages translation.

Shared experience, between writers and between readers, is a key feature of what Scottish PEN offers. Scottish PEN’s programme plays an important part in making connections and promoting exchange.
