As Edinburgh Makar I was keen, in Edinburgh Unsung, to celebrate all those people whose work for the city largely goes unnoticed or unappreciated; work which keeps the place ticking (literally, all those city clocks included!).  I was delighted that 23 Edinburgh-based poets were willing to gift a poem for this online anthology.  Between us we cover 23 service areas with 26 poems.  You can find the poems and information on the various poets & service providers using the links below.

We launched the anthology on Monday 30th May 2016 at the recently refurbished Writers’ Museum, just off The Royal Mile.   (Since then two new poems have been added: one for those who work in the Control Tower at Edinburgh Airport and one for the staff of the city’s Waste and Cleansing Department.)
